The 816 Bicycle Collective has no paid staff and all members of the Collective are volunteers. We are a diverse group of individuals united by our belief in the Collective's mission. Decisions are made as a group, and each volunteer has an equal say.

If you're interested in volunteering, SIGN UP HERE. A volunteer will contact you and setup a time to show you around the shop.
We accept volunteers with or without mechanic experience. Volunteers should be willing to help and learn.

We call our volunteers Wrenchers.
WRENCH mechanics help patrons at the collective with bike needs during shop hours and are responsible for opening, greeting, running and closing the shop.
WRENCH mechanics are required to go through an orientation usually held once a month. While volunteering doesn't pay money, there are plenty of benefits that come along with being a WRENCHER at the 816!
